1999 s70 dr door wont open, door panel is out

I have the door panel out, and used the Robert Spinner method with no avail. The brass tab easily pushes back but it still will not release. Locking mechanism seems to be working properly, but still does not open.

Any suggestions????

Can the back of the door catch be accessed through the post to remove the nuts that hold the catch?

Thanks. after tanking a mallet and big bertha chisel to the latch, I still was not able to open the latch. Took it to Aamco to try and air chisel it. The technition ended up lifting up part of the white plastic mechanism that operates the lock and was able to get the latch to release.
