I have a 1994 Volvo 940 non turbo . . help

i accidently ran it out of gas and now it starts up and idles beautifuly but the second i give it gas it bogs out and dies, anyone know what this sounds like?

Welcome to Matthew's Volvo Site.

Usually when you run the system dry you pick up years of sediment from the bottom of the tank. This is caught by the fuel filter. Enough fuel may get through to allow it to start but not enough to drive.

Change the filter as a first step.

It is under the car near the fuel pump.
