I have an 850-non turbo 1994 and the idle is 2000 on cold start and in 2 sec goes to 1000 stabil. On warm start it is 1100-1000-stabil.It always go up on start and down and stabil. Does the idle should it be 700-900?
I have a vibration in steering weel and seat during stops and park/neutral when car is not moving.I think the vibration is idle related -as soon the car is moving or i press gas pedal and RPM go above 1500 it is much better -no vibratios.
I understand that this model /year does not have an option of speed idle adjustment!? I have checked vacum hosed for leaks-changed spark plugs and rotor cap -cleaned well AIC valve and throttle body/flame trap/hoses-UPPER engine mounts looks good -the engine do not mouve on shock accelerationI do not see the lower monts??.The throtle valve -butterfly is closed well-i checked this.
Car is runing good and no faulty codes in modul A@ (111)
Please if you have any suggestions....I can not solve this problem
Thanks Adrian

I'd look at the engine mounts (lower). They're hard to see, but it sounds like those may be causing the vibration.
My idle has been exactly at 950 since I bought the car 4 years ago.

According to this post https://www.matthewsvolvosite.com/chat/p ... php?t=1764 there's an idle motor. I've never messed with mine. Do you have a Chilton's or Haynes manual?
Other than that, it's a matter of making sure everything's clean... intake manifold, air filter etc.

Yes i have manuals and I cleaned the motor-IAC-i think it is working, at least gets worm after 15 min of idle and is making an huming noise on min after engine is of.
Question is : can this motor be half bad and not capable to keep idle speed under1000? or if this motor will fail it will losse the idle and will be more dramatic simptoms. I mean is it black or white or can be and # of grey shades...
Thanks for patience.
