The original is called a Tornador. Anyone who has used a regular water hose or power washer on a carpet leaning against a wall upright knows that dirt and sand are really embedded, even when your soak it with detergent and scrubbed.
The Tornador is great at further embedding the dirt in carpet and upholstery quickly so you don't see it. This guy is working hard loosening the dirt so the Tornador can push it in further. There are many videos of this tool being used but it is only useful for certain areas as it uses mostly air. Have to watch for anything electrical as the air can force the water deep in.
