Volvo recommends Castrol, but my dealer uses Motorcraft. I was thinking of just using Castrol GTX for the first 10,000 miles and then switching to Mobil 1. What do you guys think about this plan? The only thing that concerns me is the fact that the vehicle is turbo. Will Castrol GTX be good enough or should I use a turbo approved oil like Penzoil Turbo? Just cursious what you guys think
Whatever you do, NO Mobil 1. I am currently using these in the various cars I have. In Jersey a 5W-40 or 0W-40 would be a good all year round oil in terms of viscosity for a turbo. Quicker flow in winter and higher heat range in summer. Change your oil every 6 months or 5K not 10K miles especially DINO.

This has been a main stay for quite sometime. Can't go wrong with this. Not suitable for newer cars.

Soon to go into the 03 80 T6 - First time trying this but have used Castrol while at Acura.

First time use. The 08 C30 T5 engine is whisper quiet. Engine sounds nicer from the outside of the car. I have not driven it as my son has been chauffeuring me in this since the oil change. Super quiet so my son is asking for a new resonator (Vibrant) and muffler delete.

First time use. In the 03 Odyssey and 19 Atlas w/3K miles. I think it's too thin for a 230K mile van. The Rotella T6 provided more power during passing but at that price I think it'll do as both engines are very quiet and no groaning in the van during passing like the Mobil 1.
