Connected to ignition coil wiring 2008 v8 xc90

I'm in not experienced at all but this vehicle was a gift due to major financial issues. Having some issues. Can anyone tell me what this is and the best way to replace it?

That is a variable cam timing control solenoid. Are you just trying to fix the oil leak? The seal has a retainer with one bolt and then the seal can be picked out with an ice pick or small screwdriver. If the solenoid needs to come out you remove valve cover and the bolt for it is on the head where the solenoid is inserted.

Just trying to zero in on causes of the leak.
