The SMF is just a horrible temporary diversion on the road to DMF nirvana, Grasshopper.
The DMF was just used for those who complain about "excessive" NVH with the SMF. I guess people thought their Volvo should be quieter and more luxurious... I would have started with the creaky dash, but I guess the flywheel is a place to start.
I can get over such things for faster shifts and revs!

This is one of the nicest pre-facelift S80s I've seen in a while. Not too bad for $4k! Hopefully the trans is in good shape and won't crap out a month down the road.

Swap done by the seller's dad, a Volvo master tech with 30+ years of experience. I bet the mechanicals are well maintained. Look at the rear window is that a dent on the C pillar? Seller said " no major dents anywhere" . What quantifies major?
