Have a Big boy do it or use Mechanical advantage.
1. Cheat bar, a longer piece of pipe over the breaker bar handle.
2. Use longer breaker bar.

The longer the handle, the greater the Mechanical advantage, the less force need to turn it.

This is why guys use pry bars instead of screwdrivers to move rocks.

I also just wanted to be sure I'm doing it right! Is it really supposed to be that hard? Problem was with a cheater bar it gets very hard to read the dial.

(1) I've done these a couple times and no, it wasn't hard at all. Not sure what could be going wrong for you.

(2) If you go 60˚or 70˚ it's not going to matter one bit, just get a cheater and go at them. I didn't use a dial I just marked with a sharpie after the initial torque so I knew how much farther for another 60˚.

I am going to swag the final torque of a 50 Nm bolt plus 60 degrees at about 90Nm

With an 18 inch breaker, that is pretty comfortable shoulder pull. If it is more than that, you likely reused deformed fasteners, which you arent because you used new ones Like Volvo says, right?

Flexplate to crankshaft, putting a 2002 Volvo V70 T5 motor in a 2002 C70 with the same motor. I just looked up the spec, 33 ft lbs or 45 NM and 65 degrees. http://www.volvohowto.com/volvo-s60-v70 ... fications/

Reusing since there is no Volvo spec for us poor folk and DIY Robert didn't mention anything about new... Seriously, they have to be replaced at $90... ugh, just looked em up

I looked them up:

Volvo part number 1275375:
$3.28 each at MVS sponsor FCP Euro. That $32.80 per set of ten.
FCP Euro aftermarket $1.08 each. That is $10.80 for a set of 10.

Either one would be the last set you buy and be better then used. FCP Euro lifetime replacement.

I consider either one to be low cost preventive insurance.

I don't know where you been shopping for your Volvo parts but its obviously not the place you should be shopping.

I've done this twice and didn't replace those bolts either time. I don't consider it living on the edge.
