Still standed 2002 s-60 won't start
Yes it I have a stable charge on my battery and I try to crank the car and it does nothing. But when I try to jump start the car with another car it acts as if it wants to start. The beeping noise I'm hearing is supposedly the fuel relay going bad. Well at least that is what has been determined by all the guys helping me trouble shoot it. I just called a tow to start getting some estimates, I thinking it will be my best bet. The shop said I could really mess things up if I weren't careful.

They tell you this because they want you to do the "Volvo Dealer" thing, which is to hand them your hard earned money. However, if you can't figure this thing out and we can't help you, this might be your best bet. From reading VADIS, there is a listing for the fuel pump relay in the relay box under the front/driver's dash but it doesn't specify exact location or number.
Good luck and let us know what you find out.
Edit: I'm scratching my head on the "no relay" info someone had given you. I do find this one: http://www.maximumautoparts.com/VO_Fuel ... items.html
But neither FCP (foreigncarpartsonline.com) or eeuroparts.com carry one. Sometimes places like maximumautoparts.com do make mistakes too....hmmm.

Hit the bendix on top of the starter motor with a piece of steel or wooden rod and hammer. Tap the big red wire attached to the bendix with a piece of wood it may have a dirty connection that should be cleaned). Cable connections at the battery could be cleaned. Not necessarily in this order, but any cleaning of elec. contacts only with battery disconnected.

Ok I may not be stranded too much longer. I had my Volvo picked up by a towing service this morning and transfered to a service center accross the street from my office ( for conveinence only and a company disscount) Anyway after 4 hours of trying to diag the problem. The show determined that the fail-start might just be do to my car's internal security system and faulty kill switch. Now the car is being towed to Volvo in the morning. Good News! the shop didn't charge me for the 4 hours of labor. Bad News! It cost me already $200 in towing fees for the 2 transfers. I keep you guys updated. I have to admit this is all very emabarrising. I tricked my car out a year ago thinking that I had a fool-proof ride. Now to have it just sitting there doing nothing suggest to my friends that I hooked up a lemon,( so commented 1 itdot friend). Thanks for the support in this matter!
I had a feeling the alarm system was trying to tell you that it thought a thief was trying to steel the car, and it was activating the horn of the alarm on the firewall.

Ok I finally gave in and took the car to Volvo. Total cost to fix my car... $525.00. I first took it to a certified Volvo technichian by my house. It cost $75 to tow it there. Then they charged a $98 diag fee + $20 to change the spark plugs. When they hooked my car up to the computer. The computer said the chip inside the KEY was not responding to the car and that's why it wouldn't start. For those unaware, Volvos goes into lockdown mode whenever the car senses a problem. Want to know the irony? A Volvo technichian can't issue a Volvo key... Only the dealership. Then I had to tow my car into the nearest Volvo dealer(20 miles away) that cost me another $125. Now Monday Volvo is charging me $70 for a new key, $37 for the computer software, and $99 to install the software and sinc it to my car. This has been a total nightmare all for nothing but a bad key. Thanks to everyone helping me to try and solve the problem. ( Lessoned learned... don't try to cheat the dealer, because in the end they still win )
Post mortem: After the first tech guy read that the key was not responding to the car, did he ask you for your other key? We all have more than one. Thanks for getting back to us, so many people don't....

I'm thinking it's not the key but the ignition/key ring antenna (or immobilizer)...thus another key you might have had in your possession has nothing to do with it. Am I right?

Ok guys just getting back to everyone. Vickie V' (name of the car) is back on the road again. Turns out all this time it was the key. The total bill cost me $390 but I'm glad to have her back. Just incase anyone is wondering Volvo charges $64 for a new key, 37.99 for the software, and $98 to sync the new key and the software to the car. I of course incurred the other charges having the car towed from two different places. Good luck out there to all you fabulous Volvo owners. I'm here to help in any way that I can.
