Maybe a new OEM MAF or fuel pump will fix it, but I'm not about to throw $500 at it to not fix it.

Thanks for the info. I have Bosch MAF, so I may try swapping it. Agree on $500.

I feel sometimes it stalls less when I dont have any climate control running. But I dont pay that close attention.

I'm experiencing the same symptoms with my 98 v70 T5. Working with the same group of professionals too! Strange thing about my situation is the symptoms stopped for 18+ months (ran great), then 2 weeks ago while driving, the engine died and now its back to the same symptoms we're experiencing now. I changed out everything you have thus far and more with the exception of MAF/fuel pump.

Due to current situation (virus) I can not take it to Volvo Specialists to have them look at it. Until them I'm messing around with other little issues not related to that. If you find fix/resolution before they do please post it.

Get a fuel pressure gauge on that fuel rail to measure your fuel pressure. Suggested many times up thread.

You can “ rent “ for free from autozone or Advance if they are open

I did test fuel pressure and I get reading of about 53 PSI when car is running but after I turn it off pressure goes to 0 PSI immediately.

I believe spec is that it should hold half pressure for 20 minutes - so something is wrong there.

Line Pressure 375 - 395 kPa
Residual Pressure 200 kPa within 20 minutes of fuel pump shut off

scot850 wrote: 22 Jan 2020, 15:21 It was not for the ETM but the brake ABS module. That was when I found out about the ETM warranty as well. Replaced the ABS with one from Matty at Mid-West ABS. Way cheaper and better warranty!

So far ETM has been ok.

My 'R' had not been run in a while and even though the battery was on a trickle charger I knew one of the cells was weak. Car barely ran and ran like it was on 4 cylinders. 2nd start did not have enough power to turn over!! New battery and all went back to normal with sweet running.

So make sure your battery is good on all cells as the 99- cars don't like low powered/weak batteries.

Still chasing on issue. I took Battery to O'Reilly Auto Parts and it passed the test.

After almost 10 months of dealing with this issue, I got a "free" OEM MAF and fuel pump relay from the local junk yard.

Fixed it a few days ago in 2 seconds.
