I found this tonight (between super bowl commercials) and it applies mostly to P2 cars and newer S/V 40's and 50's so I'm posting it and pinning it. There are complete factory write-ups on the installation of official Volvo accessories here:

Thanks for posting that. I just printed the instructions for putting rails on my V50!

Thanks a few later and I find it extremely useful.
Insurance totaled my 2000 V70 SE 169,910 miles and I just got a 2007 V50 which I am begining to like a lot.
