The engine is stock. Can the manual make it a sleeper (that much quicker) as too embarrass Subaru's as he states? Those tires are huge so that would mean taller gears in every gear?

Anything's possible, but on this car I'd guess not. They came from the factory with manuals, and they're not that valuable generally, so if you wanted one, you could just find one to buy. Much easier than swapping.

98 T5M is a stock configuration, this looks to be a factory one. They aren't very common though. That's why Matt should jump on it!

Probably an original T5M wagon, it's possible that it was a swap but as Matt said, they were offered like that. And I believe 019 black is the most common color for '98 T5M wagons.
The manual transmission offers better control over boost, and it makes it a lot more fun to drive. I guess you could call it a sleeper in stock form!

We’re down in AZ on a motorcycle trip & debating skipping the flight home in favor of driving 1,800+ miles back in a 200k ‘88 240. Its engine was allegedly replaced 100k ago, which strikes me as odd for a red block. $1,400 asking. I haven’t seen it in person yet. $1-1.2k seems more appropriate. We’ll see.
