95 wagon turbo 850 wagon air bag

Post by Jeffk1961 »

The driver air bag deployed while parked, beginning to move. Ignition wiring to key has been reconnected from hot wires. Did the sip short out and can I disengage the air bags ?

Well, that particular one should be disengaged by now. This is ery steange, though.

The seat integrated Sips bags from 95 to 97 or 98 were detonation powered, you cannot disengage them, but they will only go off if the starter is hit in an accident.

There might be a fuse for the driver and passenger airbag, but it coul trigger the warning light.

Some markets had airbag-less 850ies, so it should be possible to get rid of them somehow.

Thankyou, with the extent of wiring and ignition damage to the column I've been able to bandaid the air bag, disengage the horn temporarily and start it for the first time. The work ahead is daunting, but very much enjoyed.
Thank you
