I was heading for a shop in an industrial area out past the airport, and what red shape caught my eye??

A very Missoula car, covered with activist stickers. That's my son's red E30 there - I was exercising it on the freeway.

The windshield is caulked in - obvious water problems everywhere. This is a classic leak in these I'm told, it runs down the firewall and rusts there and at the base of the A-pillars.

Looks like it was white originally. I'd say this is a parts car at best....but if this was a 356, it would be a prime restoration candidate!

A body shop mechanic posted on T-Bricks a few years back his transformation of a 122 wagon. He did metal fabrication/etc., but it looked real nice when finished. I tried to find his build thread, but no luck tonight.

With these older Volvos, rusting can be an issue. I lost a bid on a p1800 years ago at auction, but later, I talked to the winner, who was upset about rust on rear suspension. This can be fixed, but requires hours of welding plus metal fabrication.

Any unibody with rust can be a pill to bring back to life. I had a 1981 VW Rabbit pickup, and driver's side front end fell out of it...off to salvage yard it went.
