That reminds me I need to fix my passenger door lock at some point... this 80 degree weather has it working about 2% of the time.

Problem returned today but I don't think I checked it after I removed the switch - so it might be in the door lock.

(I reconnected the door harness after removing the switch)

I went board level in the 2/76 controller

The ground is connected by logic command through the collector of a NEC 8413 NPN powe transistor , reputed through a 0.1 ohm power RESISTOR. I’ll be checking the NPN for collector emitter short

Here’s a nice picture from Sean’s rebuild showing where the 2/76 immobilizer controller sits. The white clips slide into the metal frame attached to the crash bar. You can get it out after removing the driver kick panel

Interesting thread. I have also interior light issues in my MY00 P80 V70 T5, the lights stay on forever if left in the "door" mode. I've checked with VIDA that door open/closed signals look good so I'm suspecting the VGL unit (2/27).

I have another issue, intermittent crank and no start that usually resolves if I slap the dashboard. Already replaced the key reader, checked and cleaned the contacts to the reader and to the IMMO3 controller (checked also inside, looked good, no electrolytic capacitors there either). Also, I've understood if IMMO3 was the culprit, the car would start and die. Now it seems like it never even attempts to start (until it does). No fault codes from the engine, cam sensor replaced, fuel pump checked.

Since I've also noticed that the blinkers don't always react when you lock/unlock doors with the remote, I suspect there's something wrong with the VGL unit. From the pics here it seems to have a bunch of electrolytic capacitors on the PCB which usually isn't good for longevity. I think what I'll try next is replacing all of them.

Did you ever solve this issue?

I never did. We leave the lights switch overhead in the off position to stop battery drain. I did try swapping in a different 2/76 controller amd it did not solve it, so it’s probably a different module.

Said car is alive and well and is substantially contributing to my daughter’s retirement portfolio. Now in her 8th year of use after the Resurrection
