"We Are the World" is a charity single originally recorded by the supergroup USA for Africa in 1985. It was written by Michael Jackson and Lionel Richie and produced by Quincy Jones and Michael Omartian for the album We Are the World. With sales in excess of 20 million copies, it is one of fewer than 30 retail singles to have sold at least 10 million copies worldwide.

On behalf of the Mods I just want to thank you all again, and point something out. On another auto Forum, Covid threads went 60 pages with multiple shutdowns and clean outs from politics, religion, racist comments, Untruths, rumors, "Ive got the vaccine", etc.

We haven't had to lift a finger here.

Israel is using emergency surveillance powers to track people who may have COVID-19, joining China and Iran in using mass surveillance in this way. I believe pressure will increase to leverage existing corporate surveillance infrastructure for these purposes in the US and other countries. With that in mind, the EFF has some good thinking on how to balance public safety with civil liberties:

Thus, any data collection and digital monitoring of potential carriers of COVID-19 should take into consideration and commit to these principles

Yes I'm aware as to how silly this sounds, and the visual pictures it will bring to mind but, as I was working in my garden yesterday, a thought came to me. Could the act of moving you hands through the soil help remove the virus ? If hand washing helps because the mechanical action of the water and soap floats the virus away, then could the soil effectively dry out and abrade the virus off your hands ? And, if my memory serves me right, bacteria kills viruses, and the soil is chock full of bacteria. Two for one. So maybe working your hands in the soil and then simply rinsing with water might help ?
Just a crazy thought in these crazy times....but you never know what just might help. Certainly cheaper more available than hand sanitizer, and a bit more fun.
Try to learn life's bad lessons vicariously through others.

There is a bit of craziness about bacteria and viruses, how long they live on surfaces, how do we clean everything?

FB is getting all sorts of garbage about how people get it at gas stations, <insert latest crazy theory here>

We live in sea of microbes but they don't go through our skin, we infect ourselves by touching our face after touching

Handling anything that has been out of the house in the past two days ? Wash your hands immediately after, hot water and soap, for the Final Jeopardy Theme.

You have to be a bit older, but in the 1980s, we were banning kids with AIDS from schools. Truly the dark ages.

Okeechobee County Commissioner Bryant Culpepper at emergency meeting
says you can kill coronavirus by holding a blow dryer up to your nose
after he saw it on “reliable source” OANN, warns
there’s a lot of baloney out there on social media

===================
"Can regularly rinsing your nose with saline help prevent infection
with the new coronavirus?

No. There is no evidence that regularly rinsing the nose with saline
has protected people from infection with the new coronavirus.

There is some limited evidence that regularly rinsing nose with saline
can help people recover more quickly from the common cold. However,
regularly rinsing the nose has not been shown to prevent respiratory
infections."
