My 2k v70 was coughing in stalling. It turned out to be the little plastic tube that is part of the pcv oil trap tube assembly. It had come out of the little rubber boot on top of the oil trap. I guess I bumped it when I replaced the alternator a few days prior.

It a funky little part not in the manual and not mentioned much, and under the manifold so it's hard to inspect. but this little problem was throwing codes like p1238 and so on. If I hadnt noticed it I would probably be on a wild goose chase right about now, you know.

I hope somebody copies this info to where it might be found by anyone with a mystery caughing stalling problem. Thanks

I started installing a pair of 6x9s in my S70. Quite a difference compared to my rattling old oems 😃.

Replaced control arms and tie rod ends, was nice having something go back together easier than it was getting apart.

Replaced the two ground straps to firewall, fixed (it seems) the flickering dash/headlights at idle. Not commuting to work at the moment, so I might have to just take it for a spin this evening or tomorrow morning to verify it’s actually fixed.

I finally got the axle out the other night... I ended up having to pull the inner CV joint apart and then hammered the CV axle puller attachment into the bottom of it until I was able to pop it loose by prying on the top side. The splines were TOTALLY rusted... never seen such a bad one before. I made sure to clean up the diff as much as I could, then greased up the new one to hopefully prevent this from happening again.

Fixed the passenger window regulator and the door lock mechanism. Locked or unlocked the door would open so I had the glue the tab that moves the lock slider back together. Then I cleaned the front part of the interior.

Evita and Catherine smugly satinthe driveway while I fixed two VAG products yesterday.

I declipped my man- car , put the two bolts holding the bumper structures back on, then finished the cooling group refresh. Immediately on connecting the battery the fans fired up, and I found that the temp sensor tested 1 M ohm , nominal 700 Ohms. New one from FCP ordered at $8.76

I still had wheel speed noise on the T4, right rear, and was dreading a rear wheel bearing job...then noticed the e- brake cable wasn’t routed right, shades of a shop prior work,. In about 15 minutes, cable laid flat, I dremeled off theABS sensor which was stuck, out new one in, and now have AbS and quiet running restored.
Replaced cabin filter on T4

Today, summer sneakers for Evita

Fixed my R's AC yesterday... turns out another thing aside from low refrigerant than can cause a low pressure switch signal too low code is that the switch was unplugged. Ice cold now!

Also changed the oil. I'm happy to report that there was NO nasty gritty sludge in the oil filter this time. It looked well used of course, but otherwise clean.

Went to a pick n pull for my first time ever, but not many p80 cars unfortunately, seemed to be way more p2 cars and a handful of 240's this being the northeast.

Pulled a door lock actuator but found it was already broken. Pulled a window switch and swapped that though. Bought a prepulled bumper turn signal marker and immediately dropped it and chipped the corner bforw I swapped it in.

I finally had time to clean and repaint my unicorn find in my days off confined to home...
Removed unceremoniously from a wreck with only the passenger front door opening and ‘dripping’ in nicotine, initially in possibly tan. It’s now the same grey as my roof, as this was the only grey paint I had and everything is in lockdown. We are lucky to be a small country at the end of the earth, we can shut the borders and confine to home the entire 4.8m population for all of April.

Replaced my parking brake pads and most of the hardware, but found out my issue was one of the cables had a cut in the sheath under the body and was seized up a bit. Used some pb blaster and worked it back and forth enough to get it working again. Nice to have the brakes holding on both wheels.
