Thanks for the response. Any ideas on where I can find some information? I've already searched this forum...
All I know is that the speakers Ozark Lee used are too large for the S70 tweeter holes. Something like 2.5 would fit.

Sixdown,

I'm real sorry if you were mislead, that was clearly never my intention. What I wrote was 850 specific - I never tried to imply otherwise. I have 2 850s ('94 & '96) and what I wrote will work flawlessly on either one of them. I've never actually seen an S70 except from the curb or on the road.

A lot of the things between a S70 and an 850 are the same and they share some common problems and fixes. On the interior I know that they are very different - I'm guessing that the sound system falls into that category.

I didn't realize the vast difference either and I've owned both...just enough years between owning both that I didn't really notice. Now, how to figure out how to edit the listing in the database to take out the S/V70 for this particular issue. I may have to contact Matt. for this because I've been stumped as to how to do this, even as a mod.

Don't mistake me, I'm certainly not blaming anyone on this! It was just an innocent mistake, and a risk on my part.

Thanks for your understanding.

Oddly enough, the tweeter magnets look fine and probably tweaked since the 850 years, but it's still fuzzy and not as clear sounding as it used to be.

Now, anyone have any experience in this matter? What size tweeters fit and how do I remove the front-door speaker cover? I accidentally cracked the edges trying to pry it off.

Not sure of your first question but I do believe the door panel comes off and that the speaker grill is part of that- in other words it doesn't come off independently from the panel. Hope this helps.

I have a better idea when replacing the 6x9s or any speakers that use any type of factory mounting "baffles". you can click on the url in my sig to see the wooden baffles I strongly suggest you build to mount after market speakers in factory locations. The sound quality will be much better and you will be able to mount just about any shape speaker as long as the opening is big enough. minimum baffles I recommend are 5/8" MDF(medium density fiberboard) from any local hardware store.

Sorry if I'm posting this question in the wrong blog. I'm still very new to this. If I am feel free to explain how to post questions and where the place to post them is. Thanks

A model SC815 or SC816 should be plug and play for you. The SC901 models use an external amplifier. There is a thread on years and audio systems here:
