'88 740 NO FUEL NO SPARK

Post by two95s »

Bought a 740 GXE not running. I was told the battery ran down and it never would start after that. I put a good battery in and tested spark and fuel. Fuel pumps won't come on and there is no fire. If I disconnect the computer harness from the ecu and reconnect it the external pump comes on.

Thanks for the reply Bill. First place I checked.

Narrowed it down to the hall sensor.

Prices for Volvo parts are ridiculous. This one is going to the scrapper.

No more Volvos for me.

You can buy the hall sensor from FCP instead of volvo and install it yourself. $79. Couple of rivets.
