This post is in reference to my recently acquired 2007 S80 3.2 6 Cyl. (121K).
I discovered an oil leak of some sort along the side of my transmission at the driver side wheel well. I can spot a plastic tube going into the side of the transmission where the leak seems to be coming from. I can't get to it without removing a lot of stuff up top; air box, battery and battery box. So before I expose it completely I need to know what this part is and how to fix it. I'm assuming maybe its just an o-ring that needs to be changed. Or maybe I'm seeing that the tube isn't well seated from my pictures and a gently nudge might do the trick!
These pictures are all shot with the driver's wheel removed and looking towards the front of the car from behind the LH axel. Any help identifying this tube would be most helpful!

I removed the airbox and battery box to get a look at the line/tube/hose in question. I appears to be a vent line. It is about six inches long with a vent cap on it and terminates at the base of the battery box. I could see no way to easily remove the fitting that mates with the transmission to address the leak. I reattached the loose clip and repositioned the line and will monitor.

I looked to see if I could find this vent from another source (i.e. Aisin, Mazda, Ford, Land Rover, etc.)
All I found was information that indicates its a press fit.
The Vendors that rebuild Transmissions must have a solution but I couldn't find it.
Let us know what you find out.
Thanks
Paul

Greetings all. New member here. I have the same issue here as Skymongrel. Looking to replace this part or at least find Intel on it. Been looking online for about a day. Spent 2 hours on the phone with Volvo USA. Very helpful and kind. This post is the only thing I could find. Any intel would help. Thank you for your time.

Update
I was wrong. My issue is different than Skymongrels. The vent is connected to case but the hose was straight down the side of case. No longer a vent it was a drain. Not sure what happened there. But I did learn a few things.
The 90° bend that connects to the case is a female fitting and it's glued to the case. It says "connection cannot be removed from transmission". But you can renew the vet cap. " Air vent valve. Automatic transmission. (Lower)". #31259848.
That is all.
Mr Matthew thank you for such a fine resource for us to use.
Peace
