Cycling AC question

Post by matthew1 »

So I don't get to use my AC much here in Seattle, but yesterday I needed it. It's cycling every 5-10 seconds. I can hear a faint click and can feel a bit less power at that time, for just a moment. Air blows cool.

Is this probably a low-coolant situation or probably a leaking evaporator?
Help keep MVS on the web -> click sponsors' links here on MVS when you buy from them.

Also -> Amazon link
. Click that when you go to buy something on Amazon and MVS gets a cut!

Sounds like you need some refrigerant added. Usually there is a low pressure switch in the circuit which will shut the compressor down if low on refrigerant. It will cycle on and off just as you describe.
