The 850 passed state inspection and emissions testing with flying colors at 65328 miles on the odometer.

At 65450 miles the engine cooling fan wasn’t shutting off when turning the ignition off. It would continue to run for about a full minute before turning off. I replaced the fan relay and the coolant temperature sensor. While doing the work I flushed the cooling system and replaced the Stant thermostat with a genuine Volvo one.

One note... when I first started the car after replacing the sensor and relay the fan kicked on immediately. I shut the car off and it continued to run. So, I restarted the car and allowed it to idle until eventually the fan turned off by itself and it is now cycling perfectly. Might have been stuck in mid-cycle and needed to reset.

Hm, that's weird. As long as it keeps operating normally now, it should be fine.

I know if the engine temperature gets to a certain amount, usually only on really hot days, the fan will continue to run for a minute or two after turning the key off.

Ive noticed when the MAF is disconnected the ECU runs the fan for a minute after shutdown, regardless of temperature - this is on ME7

After trying several adhesives, I had good long term success with contact cement on the door panels. A tip I found was to spread the contact cement on both surfaces and then just before assembly, use acetone to activate the contact cement. Acid brushes work well for spreading. Have all the clamps planned out before applying the acetone.

Nice Work! All 4 of the 03 S80 panels were in various stages of falling apart with one like yours completely separating. I wasn't sure contact cement would work so opted for construction adhesive. Took about a day to dry and messier. Since it is not that hot in the car I will try contract cement next time around.

FCP had 9125583 for $250, its a bastard 1999 2000 only sensor BOSCH

Wait - Clarke the 1998 has a DENSO 9125583 on it?

Parts car for the win!

60 seconds propane heat and the 7/8"/22mm OXS tool cracked it.

Route wires, two zip ties to secure to from frame and steering column fouling.

45 minutes.

Hopefully going to be dropping the engine/trans back into the tropic green wagon I've been working on this afternoon. Just need to mount the transmission onto the replacement engine, pop the starter on, and it'll be ready to go. I went to my uncle's new place in the mountains to help out the other day, so between that and waiting on parts I haven't done very much with this car in the past week. There's not much work left, fortunately!

A non-sagging headliner makes such a huge difference. I can't wait to do mine in my V70R... it's awful right now.
