Re: Aceleration problem from start

Hi, after installing the TPS sensor, it seems that the car is going better, although due to the situation I could only start it when I was stopped and drive around the block of my village, at 20 km/h... what I have noticed is that the idling is worse, it gives me jerks, I don't know if the car is still warm... I've been doing some research and my car has the tube to the airbox probe overridden, so I don't have the cold start system on.

Thank you very much and good luck with what's going on!

Hang on!

Check for air leaks on the intake side. Clean the Idle air valve.

A smoke test on the intake is the best way to find air leaks. Might as well smoke test the exhaust system and the EVAP system while you are at it. The are plenty of tutors on how to make a smoke machine. The simplest version is a plastic hose and a Cigar. You can buy one or have a shop do it for you.

Hi, the car's definitely going better, it doesn't have any downtime failures like it used to. It doesn't just accelerate cleanly, it seems like something in the injection doesn't let it get its full performance. After you clear the diagnostic errors, give me the 213 and 113 again in that order.

Sometimes the automatic shutdown doesn't work for me, and I think I must have a bad wire somewhere, and that makes the car fail randomly...

any ideas?

I'm going to look at injectors, is it better to change them all? Or can I go one at a time? Thank you.

Replace Injectors as a set. Get the correct Bosch injectors that are remanufactured and flow matched.
Sounds like the ignition switch is getting flaky but it could be a intermittent short in the wiring.
The O2 sensors are probably getting pretty old but hold off on that.

Have you smoke tested it for air leaks?
Have cleaned out the Idle Air Control valve?
Have you cleaned out the Throttle body?

It is a 30 year old car. It going to take some finesse, elbow grease and pieces of eight to get it all sorted out.
