Super cool, I want to do this with a back up cam, how did you source the head unit? I have some dream where I can find a used one for like $50

Are pawn shops open? They may be essential if you need cash fast.

I bought everything used in the installation from Amazon. Head unit is one of Pioneer's base models but it'll set you back around $150. You could probably find a cheaper one if you look at budget brands like Boss etc.
My HU is backup camera ready and that's next on the agenda.

Washed and waxed the Bavarisn money waster Eugenia, Elizabeth and Evita - then rescaled pictures to 35kB so as not to blow Matts Server space budget.

Geez - unscaled, these pics took 20 Mb!!

Looking good! Now maybe I can find the time between dropping the engine into the tropic wagon to get my dad's Bavarian money waster figured out!

You can get brand new octacore powered ones for £50. Being cheaper they are lacking in ram and so can be a bit slower on startup and first opening of apps, but we're talking about adding a couple of seconds.

Dropped the engine and trans back in yesterday, now today I'll get everything back together and hopefully have it running by the end of the day. Maybe I'll also get to putting the new speakers in my 940 and reflashing the ECU on my dad's X3... lots to do!

I wrenched on Elizabeth the 1999 T5 all day today. Got all the timing belt off four intake cam seal leaking slightly. By chance I had ordered a spare for Elvita as she has a slight seep too

Found a broken front motor mount and had that instock too!! Four bolts were horribly frozen and they took three hours to get out.

It took me an hour to get the right front snow steel wheel off the disc too. Bad rust. I ended up using a tire iron on the steering stop to pop it free

Water pump came out in easily. Access sucks to those bolts. Old one with 250k on it is in good shape , one small rust spot ; bearings firm

Still have to finish and replace clutch switch

Used motor mount for sale

Fluid Film (lanolin) is my new favorite miracle in a can. Spray and wipe rotor/wheel contact faces each before mounting, and unlikely to have a similar problem next Spring.

A little wiping with a FF-sprayed paper towel will sweep away a lot of light surface rust as well. Might consider that before you put the steelies away for the summer.

90% done... just waiting on some ATF and an axle from the owner, and I'll be able to wrap this car up finally. I've gotten it done pretty quickly given that I've only actually spent 3-4 days actually working on it. Took a little time off over Easter, but I'm happy to finally get this car wrapped up and get back to my other projects.
I also need to do a heater core firewall junction bypass since a heater hose was knocked loose while dropping in the engine... fun!

My brother also called me this morning to tell me that the S60 gave him a transmission service message again, and the gear display just shows "-" rather than the gear. Also made an awful moan in reverse and drive and a terrible bang when you put it into gear, and the light on the gear indicator on the console showed D when it was in P. Cleared the codes with VIDA, and everything was back to normal, no moaning and shifting was fine again (well, fine for an AW55... which is still a little clunky). There was a code for gear position sensor signal faulty... time to figure that out now.
It's weird, I just cleared codes the other day after he said he got the same message along with hard shifting, and the code was for torque converter lockup too slow or something like that. This thing is driving me nuts... one of the cleanest, lowest mileage Volvos I've had, yet it's been the most troublesome. Only 112k... it's the lowest mileage car on my driveway.
