So I got to wondering do these keys have any kind of chip or sensor in them. They look like just a regular type key with no obvious way to split them (some of the new type Chipped keys do !) and has my key gone bad? Oh yeah and did I mention, I just got this car a couple of months ago, only have one key and so can't diagnose the obvious way
It is an intermittent prob but seems to becoming more frequent and is just sitting in my drive (don't want to be stuck somewhere), I was going to get a spare anyway and may just go that route to see if it works?
I have good Battery (new) starters good, & electrics too. I've just replaced the electrical connector on the other side of the Ign key but it wasn't that as it worked the same after the replacement, then of course failed again. lol
Also tried the shiftlock button, but don't think it's that as I can't even get the key to the first "On" selection, it just rotates.
Any help would be appreciated this really is a fantastic web site for Volvo's
