This is ideally a project car. It is in fair condition and can be daily driven as-is, but it would need a decent amount of restoration work in order to be a show car. I'm willing to discount if it goes to an enthusiast.

Hello,

Can you tell me more about the following:

1) What is the TMU issue?
2) Can you post pictures of the damage to the passenger side and rear?
3) What are the symptoms of the HVAC problem?
4) In picture 8 the driver's door is of a different shade? Dirty or door replacement.

Most of the issues you've listed are project related but would like to know more about the frame and body integrity. The HVAC could be a big ticket or time consuming issue. Thanks.
Blessings,

BKM

Hello,

1) According to the previous owner, a worker at the Massachusetts RMV "checked the wrong box" which prompted the car to be registered as TMU. I do not have an OBD scanner on hand to verify mileage, but from what I've examined from service receipts, the mileage progression looks to be linear across all owners with no signs of inconsistencies. The odometer and trip meter worked as intended during the time of my ownership with no issues.
2) Yes, tomorrow when it is light out as it's currently 2AM. The passenger rear door is dented around the trim panel. There is also corrosion in the rear arches behind both rock chip guards as seen in pictures 21(right) and 19(left). The panel behind the left taillight is dented and I will post underbody pictures as well. The car was involved in an accident in 2002 that damaged the right side, it is only mentioned in passing on a dealer service receipt for exterior door trim moldings.
3)Front and rear defrost work, the cabin vents do not.
4)I believe it is dirty, but I did notice that one of the previous owners replaced the drivers side headlight which could allude to damage occurring on that side at one point, but nothing was disclosed to me from the previous owner. The original VIN sticker is on the door.

The right rear frame rail was bent in the accident, it was straightened by an insurance approved body shop. When I received the car the symptoms of instability were rectified and the car handled as it did before the accident. This was a New England car so there is significant corrosion on the suspension components as well.

After examining the car today, the underbody corrosion is significant on the tailpipe, tow hooks, spare tire well connecting to the rear tow hook, brake calipers, and strut assembly. The saving grace seems to be that the frame rails are in decent shape and not compromised. The exterior corrosion is limited to the rear arches, front tow hook, trunk and various rock chips across the body. The RR door damage seems to be exterior only. The firewall does not show any signs of being breached. Documentation of the damage below the left taillight is shown in the imgur album.

This is how you sell a car. Thanks for all the disclosure, SellingMyEightFiftyR.

I think it's counterintuitive to do it this way, but I also think it nets you more for the car in a shorter time. It saves you from showing it over and over, and having people be disappointed over and over as they view it.

Thank you, I hope it saves time and prevents headaches on both ends. I'm not too concerned about the final price as long as its fair. If there are any more questions about the car or picture/video requests I'll be glad to answer.

Refreshingly direct and well priced. Show up with the sellers price and you’ll leave with a good project and some cash.

Show up near empty handed and leave the same way.
