Thanks for sharing, very good thing to know for someone like me especially.Phainein7 wrote: ↑21 Apr 2020, 09:53FWIW (IMHO) - I suspect in general that those taken to hospitals have no antibodies before being infected, and those staying at home or those without symptoms have antibodies which can act upon Covid-19 within their bodies before being infected. That said, if I were hospitalized, I would request IV-Vitamin C first, then two hours later, remdesivir. IV-Vitamin C would dilate vessels, so remdesivir could be absorbed better.
I would also be taking small amounts of Vitamin C now, 250mg daily (500mg every two or four days would suffice)...there are foods like strawberries that work just fine...excess Vitamin C is excreted via kidneys.

If Your Neighbor Gets COVID-19, Does Your Landlord Have To Tell You?
...
...
The question has bedeviled New York City tenants and property owners
alike. Currently, landlords are not required to provide notice that
someone in a building has contracted the virus or died from it.
Likewise, tenants are not legally obligated to inform their building's
owner or manager if they get sick---despite some attempts from
landlords to mandate such disclosures.

Against Trump

Some conservatives have made it their business to make excuses for
Trump and duly get pats on the head from him. Count us out. Donald
Trump is a menace to American conservatism who would take the work of
generations and trample it underfoot in behalf of a populism as
heedless and crude as the Donald himself.

BFI WORKING PAPER APR 19, 2020
Misinformation During a Pandemic
We study the effects of news coverage of the novel coronavirus by the
two most widely-viewed cable news shows in the United States---Hannity
and Tucker Carlson Tonight, both on Fox News---on viewers' behavior
and downstream health outcomes. Carlson warned viewers about the
threat posed by the coronavirus from early February, while Hannity
originally dismissed the risks associated with the virus before
gradually adjusting his position starting late February.
We first validate these differences in content with independent coding
of show transcripts. In line with the differences in content, we
present novel survey evidence that Hannity's viewers changed behavior
in response to the virus later than other Fox News viewers, while
Carlson's viewers changed behavior earlier. We then turn to the
effects on the pandemic itself, examining health outcomes across
counties.
First, we document that greater viewership of Hannity relative to
Tucker Carlson Tonight is strongly associated with a greater number of
COVID-19 cases and deaths in the early stages of the pandemic. The
relationship is stable across an expansive set of robustness tests.

Majority of Americans Oppose Protests Against Coronavirus Measures: Poll
In regards to THE EDITORS (senior editorial staff of the National Review magazine) opinion, it reflects a failing "report card" for their representative, who has a track record of fumbling the ball during Covid-19, even by conservative speak, and who has supported restarting the economy at the expense of increased numbers of deaths, some 8 million estimated deaths. A pinch political, but those astroturf protests are out of his playbook, which represents a neo-Kristallnacht redux. People should be aware, since its a matter of life and death.

As Matt said above in the start of this thread, it is hard to separate COVID-19 from politics. Maybe we can avoid getting mean and shouting at each other.

That would be nice.Any time you bring politics into any equation things seem to get ugly because everyone has a different opinion about things or how they should be done,so it's better to keep your opinion to yourself on this topic.I love this website,it is not only very helpful, informative and fact based information, but everyone is genuinely interested in helping one another without any personal gain, that in itself is rare these days, just one of the reasons I value this website and people like abscate, because they enjoy what they do and love to help others.

State growth rates for April 21, 2020. All information is based on reported information and actual results may be different.volvolugnut wrote: ↑21 Apr 2020, 08:32 More statistics on US states and COVID-19 growth rates. My raw information is from Worldometer. Any errors or misrepresentations are my own.
These tables show all available US states and territories and the COVID-19 data for the last 5 days. I have sorted the states alphabetically and added growth rates for last several days for all states with ranking of each day. Of course, this information changes daily. I have presented the table in two parts because of the screen shot, but it is actually one table in Excel.
Again, results change daily.
For your information, the top 5 states or territories yesterday in growth rate (the worst containment) are: Iowa (0.261) with 3641 cases, Kansas (0.155) with 2210 cases, Oklahoma (0.127) with 2807 cases, South Carolina (0.107) with 4608, and Virginia (0.087) with 9,630 cases. Kansas and Oklahoma had significant growth rate increases in the last couple days. South Carolina was up yesterday. I will watch these states to see if the up trend continues.
April 20th growth rate up trend states, Arkansas and Connecticut, were down again yesterday. States with low new case numbers have more variability day to day.
The top ten states for number of cases are all showing flat or slightly improving growth rate trends - except for Michigan with a slight up trend.
My calculated growth rate for USA is 0.0383 for yesterday, up from previous day of 0.0431. This is not population or case number weighted. The 0.383 number is the lowest USA growth rate I have calculated since March 5 when there were only 162 total US cases.
Stay safe out there. Keep your family close and others at a distance.

Here in Florida idiocy is overwhelming good since! The beach is open and last weekend it looked like spring break in Ft. Liquordale! Lots of out of state license plates... Lots of Coronavirus going around!
Tons of people without any precaution being taken at every beach store. Even my Publix last Saturday was swamped with people not practicing distance, or gloves, or masks. Five deep in every checkout looking like Coronavirus 19 did not exist. So by the middle of next week I expect a upshift in cases here in Florida. We shall see... June

Thanks to everyone for keeping this muted politically, indeed, it is by nature tinged with the stench of politics.
