Unfortunately the guy gave me a time to see it in the afternoon then texted an hour later saying it was sold to a guy in the neighborhood who walked up to his door with cash in hand. Oh well!

This 1967 Volvo 123GT coupe is said to have been purchased new from AB Volvo in Göteborg, Sweden by a member of the US Armed Services who imported it to Germany followed by California. The car was acquired in 1989 by the seller, who used it as a commuter for six years and then on and off until parking it in 2000. One of a limited number of homologation specials built between 1967-68, it features a 1.8-liter inline-four with a Weber carburetor conversion, a four-speed manual gearbox, and a Laycock overdrive unit. Described as a non-running project, this 123GT is offered at no reserve with owner’s and repair manuals, older service records, spare parts, Volvo periodicals, and a clean California title in the seller’s name.

The 123GT was designed as a performance version of the Amazon, and this example is a Swedish-built coupe that was originally finished in Cherry Red (46) and wears an older repaint that has faded throughout. The seller notes a poorly-repaired passenger door, a large dent in the left rear fender, bubbling, and other imperfections in the finish. A 123GT badge is present on the trunk lid, though the factory driving lights have been removed and the side molding holes filled. Two sets of uninstalled molding strips and assorted bumper parts are included in the sale.

So the remote control Jacks on wheels lifted the car and spun it 180 and sent it on its way back to Albany. Jill can't wait to get her hands on those Jacks.
