Hi Guys,
My 94 850's windshield wipers are running very slowly these days, so much so that I can't really drive when there's any moisture or snow on the road.
I replaced the battery thinking that they possibly ran off that but that didn't help. Any suggestions? Is there a motor that's going bad?
Any help is appreciated.

Sounds like the wiper motor is on the way out. Maybe check all the electrical connections and make sure they aren't dirty or corroded first.

If not the motor then maybe the relay. A relay does control them. I have a spare if it's needed.

I had that happen to me last year. It turned out that the left-hand side shaft was seizing, and both wiper arms had to be taken off the shafts and the entire mechanisms cleaned up and properly greased.
Only after is was fixed did I realize that a few weeks earlier I had sprayed
some WD-40 into all 3 wiper shafts in my wagon, thinking this would make
them work smoother. Wrong!
Lesson learned: don't use WD-40 as it reacts somehow with the aluminum(or alloy) that the shaft mechanism is made of.

I agree with Volvox, same happened to me, wish I had found the site at that time.
I would suggest one extra to check to rule out the blades binding on the glass.
Lift the blades off the windshield and turn the wipers on, if they operate at normal speed replace the blades as the blades are binding on the glass.
If they work slowly then your wiper transmission might need to be replaced or serviced(if possible).
