Is it difficult to replace the gasket that is right near the transmission drain plug. Do you have to take out the transmission to do so? There is a small leak there, very small off the plug, and the gasket appears somewhat moist. Would probably want to replace the related filter there also.

You are talking about the crush washer on the small drain plug? I know of no other gaskets on the transmission pan. Just get a new crush washer and be careful tightening it up. I have striped them and then they leak for sure.

Yes, I didn't see correctly. It does appear to be this washer. But I notice another small droplet leak nearby at what appears to be some kind of oil line. See attached picture if I can figure out out to upload it.[/img]

The image I see is of the engine oil cooler lines as they go and come from the cooler at the front of the engine. They can and do leak at times. Also the part that mounts to the block has a large O ring that eventually gets fried and can also leak. There is a lot of oil just below the turbo, probably some splatter from time.

the leak you see in the picture really does look insignificant, don't you think? Or like you could just tighten it there and it would stop?

Try to tighten it a bit. It is a mess to go into and totally fix. These things do leak and if it doesn't bother you with a few drops, let it be.
