If I generally have no problems with the vehicle, but the Cruise Control does not work, what are the best things to check to determine what is wrong. Any recommendations appreciated very much.

First look for the vacuum hose hookup between the belllows and the engine. These hoses tend to split. Also, check the intake manifold to which the hose goes and see if it is open. They carbon up at times. Also make sure your adjustment at the throttle is ok.

I know so little about this that I am embarrassed. I don't see how a vacuum hose has anything to do with this (no offense as I know you know what you are talking about and I appreciate the help).

There was a broken vacuum hose running from the middle tit of the intake manifold through the drivers side firewall. Rather than replace it, I simply cut it back and stuck it back on. The rest of the vacuum hose seemed fine. What do you mean regarding the throttle? If you don't mind.

Read up on this a little bit and found the vacuum related lines. It looks like they are OK. Checking this out as well as break switch. Thanks for the posting.

You found the black bellows and checked its vacuum supply as well as the one at the brake pedal under the dash. How about the steel cable going to the throttle spool? Fuses? Sometimes the actual switch on the directional handle gets dirty and needs to be swiped back and forth a few times also.

Thanks,

Learned a bit about it. Obviously new to anthing like this. When I looked at the bellows and hoses, everything looked fine. Then took my blinders off and realized that a hose was not connected to the bellows. It had come undone and dropped off. Put it back on and it works fine. Thanks for the help.
