Did you cut the whole section out or is there another way to remove the foam?smacknab wrote: ↑17 May 2020, 20:32 "I also like to live dangerously"
Seems like you have some good suggestions here. If you haven't done this job before just make sure to check waaaay under your carpet for coolant. The top of the floorboard soundproofing foam is rubber so it's possible to miss the coolant and a couple of us have gotten burned by coolant living under there.
Put in a used heater core...

Someone might be able to provide better advice here but from what I remember at the time it was easier just to cut that foam out. Just make sure you peel back the carpet that is over the foam first.mooisc13 wrote: ↑09 Jun 2020, 13:36Did you cut the whole section out or is there another way to remove the foam?smacknab wrote: ↑17 May 2020, 20:32 "I also like to live dangerously"

The suggestions I got were to bleach water + wet vac + sun dry the foam a couple of times. If I rememebr correctly the foam ran under the seats so I just decided to cut out the foam. It's pretty dense so after I cleaned it I placed it right back in its place and it sits under the carpet with no noticable difference.

if the PO used radiator leak stop, the heater core could be clogged so badly that it barely heats anymore. I had that happen on a 93 Ford Contour.

It’s closed cell foam , so three rinses and extractions with water will remove the coolant
Tape it back in with heavy duct tape
