Timing procedure write up

Ok all... I am going to attempt this today & see how it goes. The only real question I have in my mind now is how to position cams before lockdown tool gets installed, & timing is set. I spoze the lockdown tool really only fits one way..... Are the part numbers on back of the cams an indicator... Like being right side up or upside down?

The slots in the camshafts are offset and in position one goes up and goes down, so, correct, the tool only fits one way.

Get the crank onto th timing mark first, then you can move the cams as much as you like without damaging anything

heres the specific info you asked for..

With crank positioned properly...
intake cam is closest cam to the radiator...
intake cam numbers are at the bottom, exh cam numbers will be at the top.
Install cam locking tool and it will be good.
