2004 XC70, 125K miles
HID headlights
I bought this vehicle with 110K miles.
Starting when I bought it it would frequently give an error message and yellow triangle indicating that the alarm system needed service. I could wait a few seconds and this code and light would stop.
A few months ago the car would occasionally give a message and yellow triangle indicator showing that one of the headlights was out.
If I turn the key to the off position and then restart the car (sometimes more than once) the message will not re-appear, and both headlights work. I replaced both bulbs and reseated all of the wire connections related to the headlight assembly, which did not fix this.
Within the past three weeks, I've begun getting messages saying:
1) that I have a brake failure, accompanied by SRS & ABS lights on the DIM.
2) I have an engine problem.
My code checker shows that these are false codes, and they can be cleared. On one occasion it said that the brake pedal sensor was the source of the false brake code.
Group: Any suggestions on where to start with these?
Thanks & Happy Motoring!

maybe the elec contacts on the computer, ecm, in the engine bay box.
Clean and reseating it seems to cure many ailments.
Oragex has a video showing how to release the ecm/ecu without the special tool.
