You might have to lift the aluminum heat shield and get the serial number off the block , Bruno

Do you know the engine number break for belt? I think it also might be as simple as the mechanical adjuster vs the grenade type hydraulic one,

Oh, good point! I have the hydraulic tensioner. The belt number and tensioner both split after SN 1226127. Is that a safe enough bet?

I can see the plate where the SN is etched, but it'll need some brake cleaner to read it.

Thought I would start posting a few pictures of my upgrades or refurbishing I should say on our 2000 C70 Convertible.
I came across a really great deal ( $125) on a basically new looking set of OEM Volvo Headlamps and corner turn signal lamps,
they look so nice after installation.
I upgraded the bulbs to PIAA bulbs for the low beam, boy can I tell a difference, they are brighter and more crisp white color.

That would fit 1035178 it looks like? Early hydraulic tensioner. Also cam timing marks are notches angled in about 45 degrees vsstraight up on th later one.

Engine break is at 1266196

Added some photos.

I think the belt PN depends on the tensioner style. If you have a hydraulic tensioner, go ahead and order the older style kit.

Wow, those headlights look brand new!

It does. When I did my '98 C70 I counted the teeth to make sure they sent the right one. There is a difference in belt length due to the a difference in the position of the tensioners.

Yesterday I finished up replacing the driver side wiring harness in my friend's '99 C70. Somehow the wiring for the trunk light shorted out and melted, and the power wire for the trunk light was melted all the way up to the dash connector. Crazy!
After putting everything back together and test driving, fuse 15 is no longer blowing while driving like it was before the meltdown. I'd call it a success!

He got very lucky that this didn't cause any more damage, it was isolated to this harness. I also replaced the trunk harness for good measure since a ground wire was all crumbled. Crazy how many issues come up on these low mileage cars that you really don't see on high mileage cars, this car only has 68k miles!

You have to remove the rear seat bottom and back (bottom just lifts up after tugging up under the front, then 2 12 or 13mm bolts for the back, then it lifts up and out) then there are two phillips head clips to unscrew. Then, there are two clips on the front side (near the door) that need to be popped out, then you can lift the panel upward to release the clips along the window sill.

I saw a diagram with arrows pointing to the clips the other day when I had to remove the rear side panel on a coupe, but I can't find it now. It's pretty easy once you feel around and pull on it a little.
