Front seat removal, airbag concern?

ive disconnected and re connected my front and rear seats numerous times without disconnecting the battery, no deployments. I once also used my cell phone at a gas station, no explosion.

You can pop an SRS code if you leave the power up and disconnect a seat from 1999-

It’s a pain to clear if you don’t have VIDA or a upscale scanner

I got srs when I unplugged the rear seat harness, bought a $240 autel to clear code, then another $300 for vida setup on a laptop.
$550 later.... I now unhook the battery first.

Technically, you can unplug the seat modules with the battery still hooked up. You just must first wait until all signs of life have shut down - key out, all lights & bells off, usually takes no more than 5-10 minutes. I tested this just 2 days ago to see. Yes, you will pop an SRS DIM message if you unplug them while power is still coursing the network. Easy to clear in ViDA though.
