Truth manufactured by the same group that said the holocaust did not happen and the moon landing is fake.

What so many miss is: Truth and fact are not synonymous. Facts are real. Too often truth is wishful thinking or worst denial in attempt to continue without consequences.

How many recall the debunked argument: "I'm not prejudice therefore I cannot be guilty of discrimination" ? So full of themselves they though they could be their own judge and jury and the rest should submit unto them.

Let’s dust off Thomas Sowell while we are at it.

This is the definition I found for systemic racism. I think the term systemic is mostly used in the medical field however.

"Systemic racism is both a theoretical concept and a reality."

"You have a racist undertone"
https://news.yahoo.com/trump-supporters ... 31448.html

Theory becomes fact (your truth, my truth...). Everything a white person or Trump supporter says has a racist undertone. If you support their cause and are white it will still come under scrutiny. Because a few parts of my Volvo is broken I think Volvo has a systemic problem or undertone of being a bad company altogether.

As for Sowell and Elder I've never heard of them till recently and I didn't vote for Trump.

Truth manufactured.

Truth fabricated or manufactured are they the same or is there such a thing? If people don't have the same definition then conversations just goes round and round. Most recently the term "My Truth" was used by Jussie Smollett. Did he manufactured Truth? Are all those cops black and white guilty as the cop that killed Floyd because of systemic...?

https://www.tmz.com/2020/06/08/jussie-s ... isconduct/

https://www.tmz.com/2020/06/22/jussie-s ... ized-cops/

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Also, imagine being on the receiving end of everything you say has an undertone. Do we now have mutant mind readers in our population? I guess if Movie X portrays it enough then it becomes Truth. On top of that they should be honored and praised for those abilities just like the movies.

Unless you kowtow and even if you do your motives, as some of the celebrities, have been scrutinized for ulterior motives. The least you'll be accused of is being disingenuous because, fill in the blank (Truth Manufactured).

- Well, you know what, listen. If everybody loved a little but more and hated a little bit less-- and it's OK for people to have different opinions.

- Can't scare me.

- I don't care--

- Ain't gonna scare me. [INAUDIBLE]--

- I don't care if you vote for Biden, whoever the other running mate is. That is your prerogative. And I'll still be your friend. But I-- I'm going to vote for Donald Trump because he's my president. And that's [INAUDIBLE]

- That's good that you don't feel that way, 'cause Black people shouldn't scare you.

- They don't.

- OK. However, your beliefs in Trump still validate the fact that--

- You think I'm a racist?

- You have a racist undertone.

Belief in Trump validate the fact? I think Crews go it right.

If you doubt the level of systemic racism in this country, then I have a few simple question for you:

Would you rather be a white man in this country, or a black man in this country ? If your being honest with yourself, then that's the end of the conversation.
Would you worry more about your son when he went out if he was black ?
How many white fathers and mothers have to have SERIOUS conversations with their sons about driving and not getting shot by the police ? Driving while white ? I think not. Until you have walked a mile in their shoes, you really don't have the proper perspective. I had the unenviable experience of being the only person of my color in a school, and it wasn't good. Try concentrating on your work when you have underling fear chewing on you all day long. And I'm white. I truly can't begin to imagine what it must feel like to deal with that for generations on end, and thinking that it just goes on and on. At a certain point thing just have to give or break, and that's when destruction becomes a creative force, whether you like it or fully understand it or not.

Every person on the planet get their skin color from the same pigment Melanin. Same pigment same color. The difference is the density of the Melanin. Same pigment, different densities = We are all different shades of the same color.

If you think you are white hold a piece of paper next to your skin ... not even close.

From A Comment: Joe Biden be like: This guy ain't black

Good Comedy or ...?

Here is another person of low density Melanin trying to convenience a person of high density Melanin how he should group think because of his high density Melanin.

Not sure why PBS would put something likes this out there?

One can always find excuses / justifications for not doing the right thing. That's easy. It's doing the right thing that is hard.

I'm going to sunset this thread tomorrow. We've gone a bit off topic: Scott Drozd put out a piece describing the boundaries of FCP's thought on the currents of race in the US.

I applaud him for this. It's a political minefield, yet he put the piece out.

Whatever the case, it's been a month, so if you didn't get your thoughts in, you've got 24 more hours to do so.

Thanks for being civil to each other so far in this thread. Much appreciated. You make it easy for me and the MVS Moderators.

Thanks Matt! I was wondering when you were going to weigh in, not on the subject matter but for MVS. I appreciate your approach to winding this down.

Thanks to all the MVS members that have posted as it sparked my interest in this conversation. Youtube has been great as I was able to hear from a side of the black community which I've never heard from except what is in the news media at large (too much time on Volvos ).

There is hope if all Americans would take Jackie Bradley Jr. conviction to heart. After reading the article Reagan's Trust and Verify came to mind. Perhaps not its original meaning but for me it's to believe that every person has no ill intent till that persons shows otherwise. Another is Innocent Till Proven Guilty or Presupposition of Innocence. If the latter is what is afforded to those accused of a crime how much more to those who I don't know?

I wouldn't very much like to experience a neighbor's wrath because he thinks and then tells me I am always out to get him when we don't know one another and have never had a conversation about anything.

Jackie Bradley Jr. says race relations have to 'start with change of heart'
https://www.yahoo.com/sports/jackie-bra ... 45385.html

"It has to start with a change of the heart," Bradley said in a Zoom call with reporters on Monday. "That's what it all comes back to. You've got to have the heart to be able to physically, emotionally, and mentally make that change to be better. Not only for yourself, but for others around. We've come a long way as a nation, but we still have some ways to go. I'm praying that we can get to the place that we need to be."

And Bradley knows that changes need to happen. It can't be through laws or rules, but core beliefs.

"It all boils down to people just have to want that change," he said. "You can't force it on anybody. We have to show a lot more love in this country."
