98 V70 xc engine weight and recommendations

You missed the point of my post. I know you have an N engine.

You can use an RN engine in place of your N engine without having to add any of that stuff.


You can swap the engine. Gain the better RN oil cooler set-up. Keep all of your current engine controls and ignition. Hell, you can keep the crappy oil cooler set-up if you want.


I mentioned the additional stuff because it was a possibility for scaling later.

It's located on the oil pan on the back of the engine. No silly lines to/from the engine to the radiator.
You can see it here on my current engine going back into my '97 T5. (Doing a manual swap, and also doing an RN oil pan upgrade)

Everything!

But seriously, the N oil cooler setup and hoses is a complete PITA and I would seriously consider going to the biscuit cooler if you are doing engine work. You can also just swap in the RN oil pan and coolant pipes, just to get the cooler on an N setup.

That is what's happening on my N motor. With that and the manual swap, I'll have NO oil/trans lines out to the radiator from the engine.
