Thanks for that, it seems to translate pretty well, usually technical page translations come out with "baked beans" and "exit row" instead of "transistor base" or "molex connector. I will order a thermal fuse from Farnell, and some 50:50 lead-tin solder which just happens to have a melting point a couple of degrees below the trip point of the fuse, and see how it goes. I will post my result, and also this week I will go see if my local Volvo service centre has a dead FET module that I can try and repair and photograph the procedure.
