2004 S80 Radio Removal
2004 S80 Radio Removal
We've got an '04 S80 with the HU611 Audio System. Need to remove the audio sys. to install aftermarket iphone adapter. It doesn't loo like you need any 'keys' to pop it out, but do you have to remove the gear shifter cover to start?

Welcome to Matthew's Volvo Site.
The attached should help you. What is usually an easy job requires a 6 page instruction for the S80. Ignore the references to software.

So, to bring a thread back to life...
We recently bought a 2006 S80 and the HU-650 radio volume control is flaky. It turns on at a very low volume and does not respond to turning the knob. With proper "twiddling" it can be brought to a listenable level. I think a replacement salvage radio is our best option.
Does the radio require any dealer-only programming to be interchanged between cars?
Would an HU-850 plug and play? Doe it have to have a specific amplifier under the passenger seat?
Thanks!
