I don’t Know. The T4 suddenly felt slow and when I looked back an S70 was attached

Yeah, that happens sometimes when I drive my mom's XC90.

Ok Abscate, karma found me. The lower passenger side compressor bolt is place perfectly to avoid all combinations of sockets and extensions. I can get good access through the wheel but it's going to require a swivel joint and my impact. I really thought the compressor was coming out tonight. Oh well, maybe tomorrow will be the day.

The 1999 is much worse. Just when you think you have it out the socket hits the radiator for the last1/2 inch on all four bolts ( they go fore aft on the 99)

You need a 12 mm ratcheting box end or it is hell.

Clean those bolts to newness and chase the threads while the compressor is out and life is much better

I would have preferred that since I pulled the radiator to do this job.

Got the compressor out finally. Impact swivel removed that lower bolt before I realized I pulled the trigger. Turns out removing the upper bolt first is ideal due to the weight of the compressor impinging the upper bolt if it's the last one to be removed. Pulley spins really well but is making some scraping noise and is definitely the wierd sound I've been listening to for years, literally the last decade. Went away as sound as I bypassed the AC with a shorter belt.

Next order of business was the dryer with its wonderfully non functional "quick" disconnect. Took an hour to get it apart. First I tried the normal way with a plastic disconnect tool. During all of the struggling and cursing there was a familiar voice in the background...
"just cut the line and deal with it later"...

That's a terrible idea

When you are getting a new drier this takes an hour of Hades into five minutes of Dremel

I’m bookmarkingthat trick to dig the last piece out of the soft hose, though, nice.

When reassembling the drier and AC line should I use teflon tape on the threads or a little antisieze?

I would probably dab a little anti-seize on it. I don't think the teflon tape should be necessary.
