I fear the end of the road has come for my 2001 V70 T5. Time to part this one out. I’m in the Midwest, USA (Southern Illinois to be more specific). The ball joint failed at speed, taking out a tire, control arm and CV joint. The tow truck then punctured the oil pan hauling it home.
Engine was running well with the exception of an infrequent P0455 EVAP system code. Transmission was running perfectly and was replaced approximately 20k miles ago with an AW55-50 from a non turbo 2002 V70. Per the seller of the trans, it had 133k miles on it when I installed it. At that time, I also replaced the torque converter, updated the B4 servo, replaced the trans filter and got the “neutral stop” delete firmware update to the TCM at a Volvo dealer. Car is Nautic Blue with tan interior. The transmission replacement was documented here on the V70 forum.
If you need anything from this car, let me know and we can talk price and shipping. Sorry to see her go, she’s been a longtime family friend.

That’s about $300 in parts to get her back in the road?

Is the shifter boot and E brake boot peeling skin or do they still look good? Both in tan?
Is the engine splash guard (pan) good condition?
PM if you want to sell and ship.

I'm coming up with a list considerably higher than that. Am I way off?
Rebuilt passenger side CV ~$150
Oil pan ~$165
Lower Control Arm ~$150
Front tires (2) ~$270
New brake hose on passenger side ~$25
Total ~$760

I agree with Abscate on this. If it is a car you know well, and no other known 'foibles', tell me where you can buy a car for under $1000 that could last you for years yet.
My wifes' 5 year old Kia Sportage depreciates by about $5000/year. She is now talking about selling it and taking over my 'R' that is not used enough. Appreciate it that sometimes you get to that point where enough is enough.
Good luck whichever way you go with this.
Neil.

hey thanks for finally getting me to register on here! haha.
what head unit do you have? center speaker?
more importantly, though. my 2001 T5 needs a new ETM and throttle position sensor. also interested in your TCM because my trans is starting to flare in 3-4 shifts. bet your tcm would cool it down.
email me [email protected] ? I'm in Albuquerque

I believe the TCM would be an issue to pair with your overall system. I believe that can only be done by a dealer to swap a different TCM in.

I defer to the rest of the forum on ability to do that, but I don't think it's possible with Vida unless you can get it online as a dealer can.
