I was sitting on the road awaiting an appt I had and it was very hot outside 100 degrees plus. I thought man its hot... I checked the outside temp on the dash and with the blacktop adding to the mess it said 124 degrees. Just as I thought I should find some shade... The R134 exploded out of the car.
After doing some reading, I found it has a pressure relief valve that opens at a certain pressure. I just had the R134 serviced so I am wondering if the high heat while sitting at idle caused a pressure spike and triggered the pressure relief valve???
I visibly inspected the lines from the open hood view and could not see anything visibly blown up... I am going to get a vacuum pump to see if she hold vacuum after work today....

124F blacktop temperature is routine.
Something is wrong with your fan circuitry probably, was it in high fan speed when it blew?
Pressure relief is on the left side of the compressor and it might’ve a blow out type, so that could be a pain to source and replace.

I am not sure if the fan was in high speed mode. I am thinking possibly not as the air blows slightly warmer (not alot) at idle and while stopped for a while. I made a make shift pressure line from an old refrigerant lime and found the blown out line. When under the car, it's the line that hooks on the right side of compressor (closest to firewall) and routes to the driver side of the condenser.
Is there a way to diagnose the fan speed circuit? Or what would I check or replace to get the fan speed to correctly work (if that is the issue)
