An older thread, I know, but does anyone have the part number for the vinyl sleeve that has a habit of cracking? Mine is in three pieces and is the cause of my identical failure.

Finally found it on volvopartswebstore. Seemingly NLA, and none of my local dealers can track one down. Has anyone found an alternative for this part? It seems pretty crucial to the long-term functioning of the rear wiper, short of frequent rebuilds.

Part number is 6817884, and corresponds to #9 on the attached image.

I might have that on my parts 1998. I’ll be in UK in SEP so I could post it locally

I’ll also be in the Black Country visiting family if that’s not too far

That would be absolutely smashing. The black country is fairly close, relative to American distances - a mere hour and a half away. Postage will likely be in the region of $3.50, and may well be less intrusive on your time. I'll do my best to fire you a follow up message, on the assumption you're happy to proceed!

I spent 3 years with a 90min commute during my PhD, but sadly our petrol was more like £1.20/L at the time!
