Buzzer for parking lights maybe low oil switch

I accidently left my parking lights on, luckily car started. There is no buzzer for the parkers and i never usually use them.

On my previous 98 v70 i rewired the useless door open key in ignition buzzer/chime to the parking lights, it was impossible to lock the car with the key in the ignition anyway.

I want to do the same thing to my P2 xc70, maybe even hook up a buzzer to the oil switch.

Has anyone tri3d such a mod?

After owning many cars over my lifetime, I too came back to a Volvo with a dead battery. All our Volvo's are now driven with the headlight switch in the upright position, so that they are on all the time and turn off when you shut the car off. In all three cars center compartment are two low beam bulbs, one high beam bulb and a pack of Nitrile gloves.
Over here in the USA, driving around with the headlights on all the time is acceptable and I never have to worry about breaking laws because my headlights are not on.
Also over here, if you break down or pull over to the side of the road for some reason, you put on your 4 way flashers. I don't know if I would use parking lights.
Are there laws in other countries like Australia where you have to use parking lights?
If I had to use the Volvo headlight switch, I too would have more dead batteries.

I was messing around taking photos of my car, i usually wouldnt use the parking lights, there is no law that i know where you would need to use them. I was using the headlights as drls but have now fitted switchback LEDs in the corner lights and use them as day running lights to save my headlights for night time.

All of our cars require we turn the lights on with the switch, just like the ignition and wipers. I had too many drivers to train to have car specific instructions.

Stop with foot brake
Apply handbrake
First gear or park
Shut down engine
Sweep dashboard left to right and shut down all electronics

Not my 240 and 740 they buzzed when opening the door with the parkers/headlights on, or did i modify them cant remember. The wipers/seat heaters/fan/radio almost everything turn off with the ignition including the vanity and glovebox lights (good improvement) in the car except the rear 12v accessory, however there is a dash warning symbol .

and the "shudown checklist" is depress clutch and stop with foot brake, select first gear or reverse gear, then apply hand brake and shut off ignition..

In America remove key so dog cant drive car
