I didn't know you could put a s60 engine in a 99.. maybe that's why it isn't running. but the post says it's a manual and it looks pretty clean with some apparently expensive bits on it.

The '04 S60 engine is a drop-in for the most part, only one or two things actually need to change (a sensor or two and the t-stat housing). That car would be worth fixing if it doesn't have any significant rust.

Yeah, that's a serious deal at that price. Even if it winds up being a pile of parts. If it was in my neck of the woods, I'd probably snap it up.
We did a P2 swap into the wife's '97 GLT. Not that difficult, really.

The problem with any non-runner is the leap of faith needed from the seller that there aren’t major power train problems that can’t be evaluated.

Honestly when I see an ad like this I see a “I like to bolt on shiny stuff “ kid rather than “ fix my car” kid

All the more reason it's likely as simple as one thing not connected right. Then again, it could also mean the seller is a total moron and dropped in an engine with mechanical damage.

2004 S60R with spaceball shifter! Interior looks to be in near-excellent condition. 180,000 miles, but doesn’t look it. $6950, Raleigh NC.

Not too bad if it has a good service history. Navigation too! I wonder how useless that is now?
