I didn't replace the bushings on mine as you are, Instead I just ran the drill bit provided in the kit to clean the bores. There should be 2 drill bits, make sure you read the instructions on how to clean the bore with them, you don't want to get too carried away with it. the piston inside should move freely within the bore.

To add, there's some really good videos on Youtube on how to deal with the solenoid rebuild.

The rebuild is quite easy and straight forward with the tools I bought, but the strange thing was the rattle before doing anything to the blue solenoid. (let's hope this will make a difference when everything is put together later today and I will test drive.

I started to replace the B4 servo cover and that did nothing. The old one was the older version but no lose washer.

Someone wrote on my channel recently he tested the solenoids with Vida and also got the S4 solenoid has a problem - on top of the three main ones that are usually replaced. On mine I replaced the 3 main ones and it was decent for about 2 years. Recently I did a run revving the engine and afterwards I started to notice the same slipping from 3rd to 4th but only when driving very slowly. Maybe the fluid overheated or maybe the solenoids got set for quick shifting and the transmission was too slow to 'engage' during slow driving.

As for 'cleaning' the original solenoids, I would advise against it. I know several people say they got good results, but I also tried it and I felt there is no way you can know when it's cleaned enough. You are always thinking "Am I doing enough? If I put these back now, are they going to work properly ?" I surely over cleaned mines and it was a disaster when I put them back, with the transmission slamming into D (before it was perfectly smooth). I then purchased new solenoids and did the whole job again.

I just scanned FCP and see that solenoids are about 150 each? Is that right?

Genuine part$$$$$$$$ - perfect example showing how Volvo makes 300% profits on parts
What is really important is to know many Ebay sellers are scammers shipping chinese solenoids different that what their listing pictures show. With that in mind, this one 'seems' legit, but 2X and triple check yourself (seller transpartsnow503) https://www.ebay.com/itm/AW-55-50SN-55- ... Sw74Bc7p2l
For example, there is another seller who has them for $115 but has many neg reviews. Better pay an extra $30 and get the real Rostra. Our Volvos have Rostra and one can quickly compare the original ones with what they get from Ebay
Also never buy 'remanufactured' ones - they are cheap but I'm quite sure it's a bad choice - most surely just used solenoids put on sale

Now what ....
After a really fun weekend geting the solenoids out and rebuild them the car still has the same problem with flare changing from 3 to 4 gear.
Everything else is working perfect...

Possible to do a diagnos with VIDA ?
The software version now in my car is 30759777 AA can I get help from this forum and verify this is a up to date software?

This is the amount of flare shifting 3 to 4 to 5.
Or is it a slip ?

That's interesting - wish you had posted this earlier. I don't think this is the transmission slipping. On transmission slipping the rpm doesn't react that fast. What is interesting is yours happens exactly at 3500 rpm - that's the engaging point of the VVT. Does it always do it at 3500rpm ?

Couple of short movies in different scenarios. Would be so grateful if this could be fixed.

High rev more gas:

Low rev less gas:
