Detail around the clutch pedals and release bearing will tell you if it’s factory or swap. Also routing of shift cables

There are not many swaps out there.

Okay, I found the VIN decoder at www.volvotechinfo.com to actually list trans types on some cars. I plugged in the VIN you list, and it says Auto. plugged in an easy one, US850R from Row 52, auto, threw in an S60R, it just said AWD, some random V70s, all auto. May be database driven since this s Volvo USAs Tech info site. It show character 9 (code ID 6) to be trans type rather than "Check Digit" like most VIN Decoders. If this works, it could eliminate some fruitless junkyard searches, even if they are fun adventures!
Current Volvos:
1998 V70 T5, 112k sat 5 years, still in mechanical coma (finally at the top of the pile )
2004 XC90 T6 AWD: 186k, 60 on transaxle ( traded in )
1998 POS70 N/A: DD/training aid, 236k but really about 240k, I think...ABS module( passed on to son who sold it)

I know US requires a check digit while EU does not, so that decoder is still ???
