Then pull down the rubber door seal down to the dash and up beyond. Start at the top of the A pillar and pull away from the windshield from the top then you have a pop in pin to release about mid down and then you lift out the a pillar trim from the dash.
Steve H, I have a 2010 S80 and am trying to install new Volvo factory A pillar trim. You mentioned "pop in pin to release". This seems to be my issue upon installation. Easy to remove, difficult to install correctly. It is incredibly difficult to install that pop in pin back into the middle of the bracket on the A piller. My A piller trim is not completely behind the black edging on the glass and when standing in front of the car - looking into the cabin, you can see a slight gap. Do you have any tricks to get that pop in pin inserted into the clip?

Thanks

Are you sure that you have it deep enough in the dash to get the first guide pin inserted and then the yellow push pin to pop in. So in summary start with the end placed into the grove of the dash and work your way up.

From the inside of the cabin, both the top (by the head) and bottom (by the dash), look correct. There is plenty of black glass edging showing. The issue appears to be the middle of the trim pieces. I pulled the driver side back out and inserted the bottom first, as you said. Above the bottom there is that strange side-ways nub; further up there is a long white pin; yellow shorter pin and another longer white pin at the top. I am able to get the yellow pin to snap in. That alone does not pull the midsection all the way in, though. It appears the sideways "nub" needs to click in as well.

I will snap a picture in the morning for reference. My thought was brute force to see if I could get everything to snap in correctly. That didn't work. Crazy. I can wrench but interior trim work frustrates me. :)

Here are images showing the gap. The A-pillar trim is too close to the black windshield glass edging. It should be set back a little to hide any gaps. Does anyone have a couple images showing proper fitting of the A-pillar trim?
