V70 2000 (new shape) HELP locked out !
Very strange to have all locks disabled . Most cars will have a manual lock capable of working even with battery off . Pity you cant get into the engine and disconnect the battery . I had a Renault that would only unlock manually without power using the master door key . If you have two keys try the other one . Worth a shot .

With the car locked I'm afraid nothing will work anyway. It's called theft deterrent.

had a thought, can anyone tell me if there is access from under the front to reach the starter solenoid to get a connection onto the battery circuit to put a bit of charge in the battery, I can't think where it is, suppose it's all covered up and inaccessible !
I used to work as outside security at the Horseshoe Casino and I can assure you that we had the tools and booklets that allowed us to open any car in which the owner locked the keys inside. The booklets had diagrams to show the "holes" to go through in order to get at the lock mechanism. There is a way to get inside to pop the lock, whether it be down the glass and inside the door, or pull top corner of door from frame and slide in a long rod to pull the lock open....and neither, if done correctly, will harm your car in any way. I've opened many, many cars and several older Volvos going down beside the glass and into the door. A good locksmith should do it in less than 5 minutes.MadeInJapan wrote:With the car locked I'm afraid nothing will work anyway. It's called theft deterrent.

Hi
just an update on being locked out, - I'm back in again !!!!
Having found the same problem on another forum and a diagram of how to get two hooked rods up either side of the radiator to release the bonnet locks, I spent most of the morning lying underneath trying to find what to hook them onto, without success. Even with the bonnet open I can't see what I was supposedly going to hook onto

I resorted to my original solution and made a device to clip onto the starter solenoid stud and get some charge back into the battery

this is accessed from below having jacked and propped the chassis, up by the dip-stick you will see the studs and nuts on the solenoid, connect to the one nearest the centre of the body.
Having some power back in the battery the alarm proceeded to wake the neighbourhood until it evantually responded to the keyfob and shut up

Having resolved my problem, and to be able to recover from being locked out again I have fitted a means of gaining easy access to the electrics.
With the battery located under the rear floor, there's a large oval rubber bung by the back edge of the battery, so have fitted a lead to the battery which I can access if the bung is removed and easy to connect to external power with a couple of bullet connectors.
